A 2024 Blueprint for Radical Change in Foreign and Domestic US Policy
Optimistic by nature, I expect voters tomorrow to decisively turn the page on the Trump era. The grass roots peace, Palestinian rights, reproductive rights, labor, immigrant and gay rights movements all seek to move the country forward not backward to nativism, racism, and misogyny. We seek to end the looming threat of authoritarianism and fascism and to create a better life for working people and for our children and grandchildren.
It's time to shift away from seeking global dominance and toward taking care of the needs of people at home and assisting the people of the world through the United Nations. It’s time to end the forever wars and the threat of nuclear annihilation.
The day after the election victory, the campaign to achieve the radical changes the country needs should go into high gear. We need a popular front for peace, social justice, and working people’s needs. The popular front should unite around pressuring our government to pursue diplomacy rather than war making and war preparation. Military spending should be slashed and military bases around the world closed. We should join the vast majority of the nations of the world in pursuing the elimination of nuclear weapons and climate justice.
